Cowardice and hypocrisy in our town?
What I find is cowardly and hypocritical is the many uninformed people who willfully spout the hateful propaganda of known and listed terrorist organizations.
This is a complex situation that is not served by people who regurgitate nonsense from Hamas and other listed terrorist organizations.
My question to you is who were you fundraising for? Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network? Toronto4Palestine? or Palestinian Youth Movement? This information was not included in your letter.
It is no secret of these organizations and others that call for the absolute destruction of Israel and Jewish people. A constant refrain at their rallies is “from the river to the sea…” This phrase calls for nothing more than to destroy Israel and its people. We need to be mindful of who we collect money for. I can only assume that this event of yours was cancelled at the last minute because maybe the owner of the space did a little research.
Unfortunately, all wars produce propaganda and maybe it’s all our responsibility to approach this with due diligence, to do our own research and to be careful not to push the agenda of known and listed terrorist organizations.
Let’s all show patience and understanding instead of making provocative statements.
