In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sadness that the family of Douglas James Agnew announces his sudden and unexpected passing on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Salmon Arm, BC.

Born in Kamloops, to Norman and Joan Agnew, Doug moved to Nelson with his family in 1960 where he attended school from kindergarten through Grade 11. The family moved to Penticton in 1973 and he graduated from Pen- Hi in 1974. Shortly after high school, Doug met Evelyn (Mueller) and they married in 1979.

Doug spent most of his adult life working on golf courses, as both greenskeeper and golf course superintendent, and helped construct the original Ponderosa Golf Course in Peachland. He loved the game of hockey and played all the years he was in school. His other passion was working on cars, especially old Mustangs. After retirement, Doug and Evelyn enjoyed spending their winters in Mexico.

Doug is survived by his wife Evelyn and sons Ryan (Natalie) and Cody; grandchildren Aaliyah and Oakley; his mother Joan Agnew; sister Deb (Daine Garner) and brother Dean (Laurel). He was predeceased by his father Norman.

Doug will be greatly missed by his family and friends. No service at his request but the family will say goodbye and celebrate his life at a private gathering later in the year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Rest in peace, dear brother. You will always be in our hearts and memories.
