Encouraged by perfect weather, hundreds of Nelson area residents came out to celebrate Canada's 157th birthday at Lakeside Park and at the Lions Club pancake breakfast on Baker Street on July 1.
The day at the park featured the Canada Day cake, an Indigenous-led drum circle, an array of musical performances, booths by a variety of community groups, the annual Rotary Club BBQ, fun for the kids, an evening dance party, and fireworks at the end of the day.
